Subject: details on load factory patches

Hello~~
I just got a brand new ancient Poly 800, and
am happy to see all these people using them.
It seems to be in pretty good shape, but it's missing the
joystick cap. Doubtful that I could find a new one, right?
I wonder if there are any pictures of them--I was thinking
of fashioning one from wood, painting it black, and screwing
it on... Weird idea?
Also, I am pulling my hair out trying to get the factory
patches. I must have downloaded 8 different wav files!
I am not ∗positive∗ of what the cable should be like. I'm
using the line-out on my PC with a cable I constructed. It
has a stereo 1/8" plug on one end, and a MONO 1/8" plug on
the other. I also tried a straight 1/8" stereo to 1/8" stereo.
I'm able to save patches and listen to them on my PC
(of course using line-IN now, and not out). I tried high,
low, volume up, volume down, stereo, mono, everything except
hitting the Poly with a large mallet... (last resort! :-)
Argh!
If I ever do get them loaded, the FIRST thing I'm doing is
typing them all in (not on paper!). When (if) that happens,
I'd post them on my website.
Thanks for any ideas!
