Check the "tracks" in the circuitboard where the jumpers are .. if they are broken, the other owner might have fixed them by putting jumpers between the components, which the broken track should have connected ..

Subject: [korgpolyex] Questions...

Okay, I've had my Poly-800 for about 10 years now. I hadn't opened it
until recently.

First, it has a battery, but the battery is now dead. What type of
battery should I replace it with?

Also, I think the previous owner had done some work on it. I'm not
sure exactly which IC it is, but there is a jumper soldered between
pin #1 and the first pin on the second side. There is also another
jumper right by it from a capacitor to one side of a transistor. I
know these aren't specific descriptions, but does anyone know what
they're for?

Thanks,
-Mike Walters
