Well the source of power will exist regardless of how it gets to the
Poly800. You could acheive the same physical versatility of a single
cord going to the Poly800 by simply taping or using wire-ties to run
the power line against and parallel to the MIDI cable.

I'm sure it works I just think it's over-engineered. But there are no
potential technical problems with it, contrary to what I stated
previously.
