Without even knowing what the inside of a TR61, I can say with 99.9999 percent certainty that there is zero chance of this being able to be done by simply find a new connector for the EX-800.

That being said, to begin with, do you have a Korg TR61 service manual?

If you do, have a look at the schematic of the keyboard and see if it uses a x/y matrix scheme or not.

Or, does it have touch sensitivity? Which would imply additional electronics to consider.

But ultimately, with the right amount of knowledge and hacking, this could be done.

Mike.

Subject: [korgpolyex] Is it possible to attatch a keyboard to an EX800 mainboard for a custom synth

Hi, Is it possible to mount the insides of my EX800 into a broken synth
and use the 61k keyboard?

Ive looked at Poly800 pics and see that I have the same mainboard

The conectors for a TR61 keyboard are different than the cable pic I
see in Poly800 pics.

My TR61 experiments have been going great. There will be a second
broken one here soon so (going to piggyback the extra set of PCM ROM ;)

I will have second case so it would be fun to mount the EX800 in there
and use the keyboard.

my TR61 experiments. .........

The same can be done with the sample RAM.
