Subject: Re: [korgpolyex] HELP! power supply causing pcb short

check the polarity of the power plug, it must be tip positive

if its tip negative, it will disconnect power from the battery and apply inverted voltage to the input, theres a zener in there to offer some protection so you
dont fry everything, but its not a good thing to keep juiced up with incorrect polarity

This poly 800 seems to function just fine on batteries but when a 9
vdc converter is plugged in it goes dead. I figured it was the jack
and replaced it after desoldering the original and replacing it with a
clone. Same problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
