Everett,
The files themselves contain a sysex identifier so that is why the
Poly knew which EEPROM each file was destined for but I'll fix the
file names on the web site - well spotted.
In the case of the keyboard only playing odd or even notes, this is
because the global parameters are set correctly for cascading mode.
Go into global mode by pressing the "Step" key while in program
selection mode. Then enter global parameter number 32. Set the value
to 0 (cascade mode off). Also, your joystick may not work if you don't
see the global parameter device type. So enter global parameter 34 and
set the value to 0 (Poly 800 MK1). There are numerous other settings
for MIDI, octave shift etc. You can try to work them out for yourself
but also, I will put together a sysex global dump for you this evening
so that you can set all of the globals to default values.
In the meantime, here are all of the global and extended parameters
implemented so far:
Global Parameters
To enter global mode you must already be in Program select mode and
then press the "Step" key. Press the "Step" again to exit global mode.
Global 11 is a global parameter that executes the command
corresponding to the global parameter value (enter the global 11
parameter then select the value of the number for the command you wish
to execute and then press the "write" key to execute the command).
11 = No operation
12 = All notes off (if keyboard MIDI TX channel is selected then send
MIDI CC too)
15 = Sysex dump single selected patch
25 = jump into flash update mode
26 = jump into diagnostic mode
27 = using selected number (global 13) set all patches extended
parameter to zero
28 = Sysex dump global parameters
12 selected patch or parameter 00-3Fh (11-88)
13 selected patch bank - possible values are 0-3 (for each patch bank)

To get into Extended parameter edit mode you must first select
Parameter edit mode and then press the "Step" key"). Pressing the
"Step" again returns you to parameter edit mode.
