Yes, there is a separate battery on the new board. You don't need the
old battery at all.

switch under parameter and MIDI CC control. I haven't worked out what
the price will be for it because I've not actually built it yet. But
it will definitely be less than $50 maybe even $30. I just haven't
done the bill of materials or the math yet.
