Hi!

Necessary? Not really, of course.

The thing is:
The knobs are working in relationship with the stored cutoff and resonance
settings.
I you want to recall a sound you have to adjust the knobs the same way they
were when you saved it to get the same result.

Another thing:
If you forget that your resonance knob is on max and you suddenly choose a
patch with a high res value your ears or your loudspeakers may explode (at
least there would be some damage...).

Of course you can install your knobs in that way that the 12o'clock position
is the factory one.
But I prefer having this switch. (I've also 2 switches for write enabling of
sounds and seq - it's not necessary, but...).

It's up to you!
