first try programming it! If it hasnt had any voltages to hold the patches then you get random patches when you turn it on. Also put some battereis in there! In lieu of a ram battery a bunch of C cells help hold the patches nicely. If that doesnt work try giving a slight twist to the VR on the far left. That seems to be the one that regulates the important IC voltages.
