Wrong!
What is cutoff?
It's the highest frequency the filter doesn't cut (speaking of high
pass filter, of course!).
What is resonance?
It's the boost of the cutoff frequency.
The parameter "resonance" regulates the amount of the boost of the
cutoff frequency.
So, when you modulate the filter with deg you move the cutoff
frequency and so you DO modulate the resonance too, but you DON'T
modulate the amount of this resonance.
Very very few old synths are able to modulate the amount of resonance
(with eg, lfo, aftertouch or other...) but today it's very common
with new synths like Supernova, Fantom, Voyager, ...
