The roland jd 800...... I a pretty fun synth to have.Keyboard is hell to maintain the keys contacts aint all that......Its a bit digital .Id try a digital anlog hybrid......
I recomend a roland juno 2 or the rackmount mks 50 depeche mode uses them or its more expensive big bro the mks 80 super jupiter..........
An mks 30 is pretty cool but no midi storage.
The ensonique esq 1 is nasty little bugger.
A poly 800 is a great synth dont get me wrong I have three and a parts machine it takes some love to get the sounds and time but you can get a moog style sound or oberheim.
A oberheim Matrix 6 rack or the keyboard would do the job to.
analog hybrids are the way to go  the 80s finest productions.
On a budget I can go on and on...But cost wise and stability ive had all the synths mentioned allthough I must admit a juno 2 is a bitch to clean the key contacts but to own the old synths you got have some love......
Peace

i dont have a poly 800 but i might get one these days. we're playing depeche mode kind stuff(de/vision,OMD, camouflage, etc), would you recommend me to buy one, I have not tried it yet.
besides i ve got another question, if you ve got any idea, my friend is gonna buy another synth and she has 2 options:korg z1 and roland jd 800, which one do you think is more suitable for electronic, depeche kind music?
