Subject: Re: [korg_mono-poly] Signs & Symptoms of a bad SSM2033

There are no other known issues, than it won't play at all. Everything else can have a different cause than the 2033, so tuning or stability are no certain signs.

If you suspect a 2033 to be bad, then simply swap it with another voice. It requires good desoldering (and soldering) skills. The thermistor has to be dismounted before and remounted then again. Don't swp the thermistors between voices.

Hey All,

I am inquiring for any information regarding the signs and symptoms of a bad SSM2033.  Still trying to diagnose my MP and if anyone could lend just a short bulleted list of what would occur from a bad VCO chip.  Would a damaged IC affect tuning and stability? It would really help out a lot. Thanks!
