Hi,
sorry, but I have no comparison. But since I know the sounds of the some of the other emulated synths I can confirm, that bristol is kinda cool - in fact that it emulates lots of synths. I use LINUX for my music and I have to state, that bristol only runs under linux and there is no windows port - but nevertheless, there are some linux live-cds which include bristol - so everyone may try it.
I was looking for a long time for patch samples and I'm happy to find them here...
