Subject: Improving the eml-101 envelopes

Hi,
I'm thinking about beginning my age old plan to restore my eml-101 & add some useful modifications. The envelopes have always been a weak point I think for the 101, at least on my unit...
Looking at the schematics, the 5uf polarised electrolytic cap in each envelope seems like a potential weak-link. I replaced one dead electeo cap when I first bought the synth 15 years ago, but I've just never been happy with the musicality of these envelopes.
Two thoughts;
-Would using a lesser value (i.e 2.5uf) high-quality 16v electro cap help punch up the envelope speed? Say Black Gate caps if I can find them...
-How about using high-capacity film capacitors, they are bigger in size and more costly but outperform electrolytic capacitors. Mouser for example sells 5uf polypropylene film caps for about $10-$12.
Any thoughts welcome
