I have to admit I have bought a couple of small ticket items from
minime123, not EML gear. The guy seems OK, and he has, in fact,
contributed some nice photos to the archive section here. I agree his
prices are high and I'm not here to defend him, but you have to consider a
couple of things when looking at vintage gear like EML. First, of course,
is the obvious...condition. Can't be said enough. If someone is selling an
EML 101 with the original manual, paperwork, whatever and the thing is
really in cherry condition, well that can justify a very high price.
Second point at least for me is immediacy. What I mean is, are you willing
to spend the time and energy searching, waiting and looking for a good
deal, researching, bidding etc. ? If so, fine...but guys like minime have
the gear right there, you could buy it and have the dern thing in a matter
of days, job done. That's got to count for something. Sometimes the price
is not the highest priority...tho it's always important.
