Matt, I personally used some sds8 pads with an alesis D4 which is
basically waht the dm5 is. Here is waht my experince yielded. The
pads i was using had been in storage since the late 80's hardly used
using them with the d4 produced these results. The pads required a
high sensitivity level to get moving. And then so they didn;t
respond well. Problem was the old transducers (triggers) in teh pads
were deteriorated. the problem was solved by picking up some new
transducers at radio shack, now being used wiht a dm5 they kick major
ass. if you ca solder the reapir takes about an hour. you can also
buy the pintec dot triggers and gluem them in in pace of the xisting
transducer and splice the output wire.
