Do you mean a Trixer ?
You could even trigg by playing back the recorded drum tracks in the
trixer inputs I suppose...
You need the tracks to be quite clean .
Otherwise the best way to trigg confortably any simmons (except SDX/
XRack ) is (for me) some DDrum pads set with Mesheads .
But it should work fine with any piezo pads...
It's (trixer) probably working fine with the latest Simmons "probug"
acoustic triggers.when this trigger is set up it's dampening quitely
the drumhead so the triggering must be quite clean...
I've seen various piezo setting up the Trixer (like "K&K" for
example ) ...But everything will depend of your acoustic drum head
adjustment ....
about the mikes it's probably better if they're not too good, to
avoid crosstalk problems...
The Trixer is supposed to be optimised that way...
I'm afraid you need to try to see what better suits to your
situation...
If it doesn't work properly , you could ever use "Recycle" (from
steinberg)to freeze the midi shapes of your drumtracks & send midi
notes to your Simmons ...
