The SDSV needs a very short spike-like trigger pulse. The shorter, the better. If the trigger signal is a tom or a cymbal, the click portion of the SDSV sound will crunch as long as the trigger sound is and after the triggersound is over, bend and decay envelopes will start.
The 707 sidestick/rim or closed HH will do the job. You need a cable jack/XLR , life/tip pin 2 of the XLR, ground/sleeve pin 1. You cannot use the sequencer inputs without a modification. Be careful with the output volume of the 707.

Subject: [Simmons Drums] Triggering SDS-V with a Roland Tr 707
Hi,
Does anyone know if triggering a SDS-V would work hooked up to a the individual outputs from a Roland Tr-707?
Regards
Matt
