Subject: Serial numbers and repair recommendation

I am finally getting around to taking my Simmons gear out of storage to
start using it again. I haven't used some of this stuff for 15 years. I
bought it all new, several items right after they were released.
SDS8 (serial number 81676)
SDS7 (currently mounted in a rack and I can't see the serial number on the
side)
MTM (currently mounted in a rack and I can't see the serial number on the
side, but as I recall it is #7)
Portakit (haven't checked serial number yet)
SDX (serial number 100)
From what I have tried out so far, my SDX is working fine. I never did have
a hard disk installed in it and would like to do that. My SDS8 has several
LED's that do not illuminate. And, for the Middle Tom, the factory sound is
not working (just triggers noise and never shuts off).
I am sure my SDS7 battery will be dead and may have leaked. I will take the
cover off before I turn it on.
I have the memory backup cartridge for the SDS7. If I take the cover off is
the battery accessible? Is a replacement available?
I expect to need service on some of these items. I live in the US (North
Carolina). Does anybody know of a service tech in the Mid-Atlantic or
Southeast US who has good experience with Simmons gear?
Thanks.
