To be honest: I don't know.
I designed these circuits with a hihat pedal to be switched to any, some or all channels. Make yourself free from the expression "hihat", I wanted to shorten or trigger sounds as like a hihat, but this means more.
The decay kill option for one, some or all channels makes it possible for example to play a beat with loooong sounds and shorten these for some breaks only. Or you fool around and swap looong kick with short kick and an additional snare trigger at the "kill" point. Because you can trigger/chick also one, some or all channels with the pedal. B.t.w., the chick lengh is also adjustable, its volume too.
Now, as I said, I am not really sure, what the TBS people really did or do. They have to produce the SDS1 "Simmonizer" for the market, may be they left some details out because of less interest. I think, 99% of the customers will trigger it via MIDI. And: 99% of these will have a 4-on-the-floor kick with a full power snare on 2 and 4, as they did this for decades now. Ok, I am not angry about this (I also really like McDonalds).
If you play this instrument not with the intention to replace a convencional drum set, you are on the right way. There is the pitch pedal, making it possible to shift the overall pitch by a definated amount. Now you are able to play stuff live like the Black Eyed Peas sequence it.
The hihat circuitry was designed originally for a Roland FD8, because I had one here at my shop, it wasn't too bad and I didn't want to buy another.
If you are one of the millions going to a shop to say:"Hey, let's check out how many snare sounds this sucker has", buy a Roland or Yamaha. If you are one of the 2 dozens, who want to have a "wider horizon" in electronic drums: A heartly welcome.

Wow! This looks awesome! Love the HH control features and the fact that you included a 'chick on/off' switch - brilliant!
Any idea when it'll be available? Price? Also, will the HH control work with a SDSV/7 pedal?

The pad input is super sensitive for use with mesh head pads. Also the Hihat controller is outstandig with controls for chick/splash volume and more.

The analog ensemble can be switched to a high frequency range to produce finger snips as well. The digital ensemble can handle different samples (also the 909 ensemble). The noise filter has resonance and the possibility of highpass and bandpass. It can produce anything between castagnets, claps and snips.
