Subject: SDSV Improvments ?

From: "Jacquot" <Jacquot.Patrice@...>
Date: 2010-05-17

Hi Guys,

I wanted to launch a subject & inviting every people (not only but surely the Gods) :-) who can feel concerned by the (professionnal or not ...) SDSV use.
I love mine but there are some things I'd like to improve.

I can thank Jesper to have spoken about that Separate output resistors. I remember having been in trouble connecting them at some point to a SPM8:2...it didn't work... & I forgot about it.

I am submitting the question, to see if anyone did (or felt the need to ) improve the "V"at some point...
or got in touch with some units that would have been improved (like Genesis customed units (or whoever) who had some techs & money to dive in the machines...)
Outside of any personnality cult worries... ;-)

Here is what I'd like to do on the following parameters if I had a magic stick .

> CLICK "no saturation"
(I just don't like at all this saturating Click. A very nasty sound for me ! Anyway not as nice as the SDS7's one to my taste. )

> NOISE "a separate envelop" for it would be great (to get a short noise while a long decay for the tone )
but probably difficult to implement to the original architecture.

> BEND "Bend both ways" UP & DOWN
Already discussed with Franck ... )

> SYMETRIC Output connections
to get a pure signal, fully denoised.

any other Ideas ?

For example, I also saw on Dave's SDSV (& I know a few German guys musthave seen it ;-) a special extra pot for the chick volume on the Hihat channel module.

Anyway...

Speak soon,
Patrice.
