I opened a SDX pad a few times
IMO they are FSR's, but they sense the positioning by a kind off wireframe
underneath the foil. The positioning information is send as modulation info
on the midi out.(for sequencing etc). Sequencing made every computer go wild
(and crash) since there was to much information on the midi going on.
So sending back modulation while hitting a pad might give the positional
sensing idea. BUT: me as a drummer needs both hands to play the drums, so
no hand free for tweaking a modulation wheel. And you would need a wheel
for every pad
Still the SDX is great!!
