Ive got an old simmons kit I inherited, it works a treat through an
alessi brain (now hunting for an original simmons v brain) but the kit
is looking pretty tatty. its built around an original black simmons
rack (thats currently away for a strip and powder coat courtesy of a
friend). Ive searched through prev messages and not found much of use.
Im in Uk so i guess some of you outside might have access to stuff I
dont (cest la vie). My problems are shell scuffs and deeper
scratches ...what do you guys use to polish them out? The black rim
and surround has gone a sort of whitish colour if i scratch it with my
fingernail it goes, if i polish with household furniture polish it
goes for about an hour then comes back...has anyone found something
magic that works permanantly? Pads these are pretty beaten up but
still sound, they have also gone a dirty grey with inground dirt and
age ...again anyone found a good way of cleaning/restoring these?
Shells I have one without the coloured shell does anyone make pattern
replacements that you guys know of?
