Hi Barry ,

nothing personnal, but I don't share your point of view ,
please remember that the SD5k ISN'T a SIMMONS AT ALL ...So why should we feel concerned about it ?
Nobody's buying an SD5k because of the SImmons name, this generation don't know about Simmons ... it's too old ...
They're buying it just because it's cheap !

Anyway, the destination isn't the same neither ...
Someone interested in electronic & in the sound won't buy an SD5k at all .
Someone who wants to practice in his bedroom won't buy an SDS7or V or SDX for that ...
Old Simmons don't offer at all what the SD5k brings.
&SD5k doesn't approach at all the Sound of original SImmons.
it's, I think, 2 completely separate worlds.
with 2 separate destinations.

People who buy an SD5k are buying a first price chinese thing. Do they care about analog or digital things converters ?
The old Simmons were Audio Pro Units ...

It's same sort of situation between the MP3 world & the audiophile one...
I don't see young MP3s consumers finding any interest by paying more for an audiophile system or recordings when they can download for free ...

Well, anyway ; it's just about my personnal thoughts.

have a nice day,
Patrice.

I realize there may be a copywriter issue and that should be cleared up first. However eliminating information and communication can be a problem. We may get SDS5 people who learn how different Simmons was and become more interested in the “OLD” Simmons. Who knows some may be good at electronics and can be helpful. One solution could be that we begin to call and refer to SDS5K – as Guitar Center Simmons and place uploads in a new folder. Sort of separate but encourage communication
