In most samplers it's possible to layer sounds
and they trigger at different velocity levels ( in theory you can trigger
127 different samples in this waY)
perhaps he assigned say 5 different samples ( this is an example)
vel 0-30 snare
vel 31-60 deepsnare
vel 61-90 rimshot
vel 90-110 bassdrum
vl 111-127 bliep bliep skwoink

perhaps thats the way he's doing this
I know that in the roland PM 16 this is also possible and also layer 3 notes
( for chordplaying etc) and pitchbending, modulation etc
drag YOU have to program it yourself
