I guess you've used it and not just kept it then! ;) My OSCar is like that
too, have had a battery chance, but that was just out of precaution.

Sure is... a few years ago I bought a "dead" SDS-V on german Ebay.
Everything looked fine until I realised that the power switch was dead. 1.50
worth of euro at the local electronics store and the "dead" SDS-V was up and
running again.
So, there are many SDS's out there that needs a loving hand, but I guess
many of them goes into the local dumpster. :ยด(
