>> Lets come up with a system of adaptor panels.

Ages ago i cut a small adapter plate to fit my wiard noise ring into a euro system, before euro noise rings were availible.

I thought at the time about cutting some 5u adapter plates. It wouldnt be hard at all - cut a 5u panel and cut a recess for [x] hp of euro. A small adapter board could be made up to regulate the 15v down to 12v.

I ∗almost∗ made some, but then i worked out how long it would take to make them, and the voltage converter boards, the cost of all the bits and pieces (theyre not expensive, but when you get into cable parts etc. it all adds up) and then i thought about how much anyone would actually want to buy one for...

...and thats where it all went wrong.

So, its 100% possible to make a nice adapter panel, with the voltage regulator board etc - maybe with a 3.5mm to 6.35 set of jacks along the bottom etc. but i just figured they would have to cost too much to make it worth while - and then they wouldnt sell anyhow.

Id be real happy for someone to disagree with me, as i thought it was a nice idea, but i just couldnt make the numbers work.

Thanks,
Julian
