Yeah - this actually is how I feel too.
The 7U layout came about because I asked Will what it would take to use the standard MOTM large knobs - and it takes 7U to do that. Then as it turns out, I thing the layout of the LVCO is better at 7U anyway... it's just clearer. And If you've moved to 7U, then there's space for the waveshapers anyway.
So, now that I'm really recalling my thinking, yes - the 7U panel is about the large knobs and better layout. A fringe benefit is space for the waveshapers.
So I vote for the 7U deals myself. If Scott makes it, we will buy one.

Then everybody buys 5U's, and the ambitious ones hope Scott will do the 2U companion panel. (Of course Scott will then still be looking at doing a panel run just for that same small number of ambitious customers.)

So when he makes a panel I want, I feel like I got lucky, and I buy it. And when he doesn't, I do my own thing with no hard feelings. (Thanks, Scott!)

Will even found mention in another forum's LVCO thread that Jurgen had considered including waveshapers on the VCO board, but decided to omit them because of space considerations.

I mean, it's not like Will and I have built and tested the damned thing... but, again, with some fiddling about the value of the input resistor to the CGS Osc. wave-shapers, it should be a no-brainer. (we've done our best to chart this out on our LVCO page so we wouldn't forget how we thought of doing it)
