Nice set of enhancements. I agree with them all. I was working on a 3U panel myself with the small potentiometer spacing but like yours better. I adapted a version of it in FrontPanelExpress at

I've used this smaller control spacing on my YUSynth fixed filter bank with a switch in between. It's tight but very usable. There is a photo at the bottom of this page showing the spacing.
