Consider the 4U 40-pot section to be an extension to your 2U layout.
Maybe it could even be a separate panel, then those who don't want all
the knobs can just use your 2U panel.
With all the pots fully clockwise the response should be identical to
the "stock" version. With the pots fully counter-clockwise it should
be completely silent. So you can dial in just the bands you want, and
just the amounts you want.
You don't need to build two (but I am because I'm 2x insane).
