The ASM2-Wizard is a pre-patched modular. All inputs and outputs to each module are bought out to jacks on the front panel and as such that makes it a full modular system. A small splitter panel allows a few points to be multipled but in reality a much larger number would probably be really required.

All module inputs also have a normalised signal  i.e. every input is connected to a suitable output from another module. This is the pre-patched configuration and allows the ASM2-Wizard to generate sounds immediately without the need for patching. Inserting a jack will disconnect the pre-patched signal although this can also be effectively achieved by simply turning the associated input attenuator to 0.

Any input can be replaced by an alternate signal by simply inserting a patch lead in to the input jack and then plugging the other end in to the desired alternate output.

The ASM2-Wizard configuration provides the best of both worlds (fully hardwired and fully modular) by allowing maximum flexibility in patching arrangements whilst offering a number of pre-patched configurations used in many sounds patches.

The pre-patch connections are derived from the ARP 2600 block diagram. Originally it was intended to layout the ASM2-Wizard panel to replicate the ARP 2600 but it was found impractical given the number of additional points available on the ASM-2 which would have resulted in a panel some 1.5m wide!!!!!!!!

I see, I thought the Wizard was a full modular implementation. It is a bit more than an Arp
(wow).
