Subject: A tip for Wogglebug users

I noticed a post on the 9 pages of Wogglebug related info at the Electro-music site.
Someone was wondering how I had done one of the demos and I realized I had never
mentioned this technique. I was not withholding the information, I just forgot about it until I
read the post. It was 8 years ago when I did the demo.
Here is the tip: Woggle CV is only a generic label, at short settings of the Woggle Time pot,
the decaying sinusoids at the Woggle CV output are in the audible range. At the shortest
setting of the Woggle Time pot, and with other things right, the Woggle CV output will
oscillate chaotically in the audio range. The output is from the state-machine phase detector
in the 4046, so it moves in steps, not true sinusoids, but a lowpass filter will remove the
stepping.
To get the bass thumps in the demo, run the Woggle CV output to a lowpass filter to knock
out the high frequency content and play with the Woggle Time control to affect the pitch of
the "thumps".
If someone could pass this over to the Electro-music forum, that would be great.
Happy Woggling!
