Hi all....
I'm not posting this to stir up any sampling-type dust, but merely wanted to
help others who might want to set up a stand-alone 'Tron/Chamberlin using
samples and a keyboard....
I recently sold my Chamberlin for a variety of reasons, and wanted to
replace it with something that might also give me the sounds of the other
high-maintenance keyboards that I might part with (Clavinet, Clavioline,
Farfisa, ARP String Ensemble, etc. etc.).
So, I recently bought an Alesis Fusion 6HD (see:
http://www.fusionsynth.com/specs.html ) which came already loaded with some
good sounds (the Farfisa sounds great), and loaded it up with the Pinder
samples.
I'm a total sampling newbee, yet I had no problems loading the machine with
the Akai sample CD using the Alesis Fusion Converter software (free).
It took me about 20 minutes to load the whole CD of 'Tron and Chamberlin
banks from the Pinder CD onto the Fusion, and I was up and playing shortly
thereafter...
Anyway, it sounds great!
I'm using the samples un-looped just like the real deal, and I haven't
started even tweaking the samples yet.
Anyway, I thought I'd pass this on to those who were in the same predicament
that I was a few months ago...
It seems like a solution that just might work for me...
