Bernie,
"Calling Occupants" was done on an M400, not a MKII. I did an instrumental version a few years back on my M400 and the Mellotron sounded pretty close (except for the backwards intro I threw in there). I had the MP3 out on my "TronSounds" web site for a long time before the site went down. Let me know if you'd like to hear it, I'll send you the MP3.
I think the name of the first Klaatu CD was 3:47 EST, and it had a big picture of the sun on it. Their best stuff was on that album (CD). Along with "Calling Occupants", a song named "Dr. Marvello" featured Mellotron (flutes & 3-violins), but I can't recall any others with Mellotron. "Subrosa Subway" is another great song fron that CD,and "Little Neutrino" has some interesting synth sounds. None of their other albums featured Mellotron (excep for a snippet here and there), or had songs as great as the first one, IMHO.

Hi All,
I've just been listening to "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary
Craft" by Klaatu on UK 70s Prog Rock Greats (Live365.com). Great tune
with some nice MkI/II (I think) in it. This is the only tune by them
that I vaguely remember. Can y'all recommend some of their better
albums (CDs for those who don't remember albums) in this style? I read
that their later stuff was disco-ish, so I wouldn't be interested in
that (or their rap stuff, if they ever did any of that).
Klaatu barada nikto,
Bernie
