Hi All...
I've gotta say it... Mike Giles has got to be the most underrated drummer out there!!! I recommend everyone getting the 21st Century Schizoid band's DVD: "Live In Tokyo" as Mike Giles was their drummer for that line-up. Not only do you get stellar performances of most of the early Crimson songs... including "Epitaph" (which hasn't been played since '69)... but you get to watch some excellent musicians playing... and enjoying these classics! Not only do you get the Tokyo concert... but you get excerpts of two other concerts... and some rehearsal footage as well. It amazes me how "laid back" Mike Giles appears... while playing some of the most ferocious licks around... it scares me to think what he would do if he got worked up!!! Mike Giles is using a set of "Arbiter Flats" in the rehearsal... and concert excerpts... great sound for a drum set under $1,000... that you can carry 'round in a small Toyota...
BTW... has anyone been able to download any of the vids on "YourTube"?
That's it...
