Greetings, Guys and Gals...

Here's a "heads-up" for you... Keep an eye on your local PBS station... Look for "Great Performances- Chaos and Creation... Paul Mc Cartney Live at Abbey Road". The show runs for an hour... and features Paul performing a few Beatles songs... but the bulk of the show features Paul showing off different studio techniques that he's used over the years... while creating songs on the fly. Paul uses an old Studer 4 Track... a harmonium... wine glasses... and a stand up bass that was used on Elvis's first recordings, running through an old tube EMI recording board. But the thing that will interest our group the most... is that throughout the show, the EMI MK 2 Mellotron that the Beatles used for Strawberry Fields Forever, is in plain sight...and Paul creates a song on the 'Tron using one of the left keyboard patterns. Paul also plays the intro to "Strawberry" as well... a show worth taping...right?

BTW... The Steve Hackett and Friends, Live from Tokyo DVD features a fantastic version of "I Talk To The Wind" along with "ITCOTCK". Other highlights include Watcher Of The Skies, Firth Of Fifth, Walking Away From Rainbows (among many others), and a 18 minute rehearsal as an extra. I picked up my copy at Barnes and Noble... and I've seen a copy in almost every B.& N. I've been in recently.

That's it... Be Seeing You...

J.P.
