Three bands with a Mellotron connectivity (perhaps you have already
heard of "The Moody Blues")
1. Benedictum
A powerhouse of an old-school metal band out of San Diego w/excellent
vocals and full-throttle guitars, boasting a strong debut, titled
"Uncreation" on the Locomotive label. As the CD thunders along, out of
nowhere come these cello/choir/string Mellotron upwellings that last
only a few seconds, but percolate strongly at least a half-dozen times
throughout the disc. A "gently used" M-400 is shown on their ∗Studio∗
pictures, linked on www.benedictum.net
2. Moody Blues
According to a post on progressiveears.com, the new batch of reissue
SACD Moodies CD's have lots of bonus tracks, including a "Mellotron
version" of "The Word".

3. Gus Black
Gus Black's new CD "Autumn Days" has some nice Mellotron strings
(unconfirmed) here and there...the cover purposely looks beat up, like
Johnathan Butler artwork, or maybe some of those early 1970-1971
Columbia/Epic albums you own that have ring wear...www.gusblack.com
