I've actually had a chance to dig around inside Mattias Olsson's Rhythmate a few years ago when he brought it with him to NEARfest. It wasn't working and so he let me mess around with it. I got it working after a while but I regret not taking photos of the inside of it. It looked like something someone might have built in there garage
I thought it was very cool in a "Rube Goldberg" (dating myself) kind of way.
