I hate to say it but I would think that some of those signatures could de-value your instrument!
 
 
As far as autographs go - I only ever had the members of Yes autograph the Wakeman MK V lid (during what you might call the "authentication process").  I also made sure the autographs were underneath the lid for esthetic reasons.

Some of you are wondering, "How the hell did he do that?" Well, it's pretty easy. I go to a lot of book signings and public gatherings. I always take the lid of my Mellotron with me. You just ever know. I once took the lid to the US Open years ago to try and get John McEnroe to sign it. Unfortunately, I only ended up with ∗Tatum O'Neil. Buy hey, it's better than nothing. It was a bitch getting it to Zaire though.
 
The craziest part was trying to explain to most people what it was. I got a lot of weird stares.
