Hi Andy & Mellotronists everywhere,
Some of you may remember that I managed to find my old MkII (now known
as the Half-a-Tron) through this email group. The instrument (formerly
used on England's Garden Shed LP of 1977) is now owned by Gordon Reid
and is presently being refurbished at Streetly UK.
The England band has reformed to play Garden Shed at the Baja Festival
in March 2006 (read more at www.gardenshedmusic.com). I shall be using
a real Mellotron (of course!). But... it would be wise to have a back
up on sampler.
I've bought an Akai S3000 and it has been suggested that the MkII
combined Brass and MkII Violins are available in Akai format on a
David Kean CD-ROM. Does anybody in the UK (preferably in London) have
these? Or other samples that could work well with the Akai. All
comments welcome.
Also, are there any samples of the M400 Timpani/Percussion tapes that
were used on Garden Shed?
