Well,
I just started a rebuild on a very strange Mellotron. Someone in the past must have decided that a total tear down was in order, because they removed many of the rivets on the frame at some point and reriveted it with what must have been a Ronco Pocket Rivet Gun. There are enough parts missing that I just call it a Mellotro... Interestingly, many of the keys on the keyboard are from an M-300. It also has serial # 740 but the keyboard has serial # 543. Anyone know where the rest of #543 is?
I am also overhauling # 1073, which happens to be owned by "Mellotron Guy," who also bought #430 from me as well as the Tron that was just on ebay. This guy has a serious collector's mentality, but he also plays them live and is a vintage keys nut.
So what's going on with the rest of you?
Frank
Oh yeah, I sold my A-100 to Jimmy Moore. He came down with his friend Dennis last Sunday. Jim, Dennis and my wife and I all went out for breakfast. Then, when we got back to my house Jim, Dennis and I all got hernias getting it out of my basement and into Dennis's truck.
