Subject: Chamberlin M-1...price (?)

From: "mellotrongirl" <mellotrongirl@...>

A year/year and one-half or so ago--someone here on this list
mentioned one in excellent condition going for $5,000 in a music store
somewhere around the Great Lakes (?) Who got that one, I dunno. Maybe
it's still available! Seems I recall the person letting it go said
he's selling it for what he paid for it.

Now I hear in the String Synths thread over at progressiveears.com
from a July 3 post stating the two Mellotrons that Wobbler used at
NearFest may be sold. There are racks aplenty with this pair.
Someone's got some explaining to do. I know if I (confirmed) was to
let go my unit, I'd offer it here first. Letting go of a Mellotron.
Unthinkable. "Lack of space" isn't a good enough excuse. Yet then
again, I'm still kicking myself for letting go thousands of mainly
obscure LP's from a personal record collection back in 1978. I even
painted my living room around the record shelves rather than to take
the time to unload them all.
