You are more than a messanger in this case Frank. I would guess that
the other MK VI owners on this list are not pleased to read about a
MK VI with problems. You have left 185 "mellotronists" with the
impression that some of these new MK VI's don't work very well.
The M400 with problems is a totally different situation. We all
expect these 20 + year old things to have a few problems.
I happen to know the real story about this particular MK VI. I may
buy it... but I suspect that it is damaged and will need to go back
to the factory for repair.
For the record... I have been swapping frames in and out of my MK VI
several times a week over the past two years. I use it a lot and I
haven't had any trouble. Clean audio, zero tapes eaten! I would
like to think it was a good investment, but when you "innocently"
pass along your biased opinion of it's value, to 185 people, you
aren't helping my resale value.
Get the picture Frank?
If anyone else wants to comment, please be sure that what you come up
with is based on first hand experience.
