It went great...It is always a lot of fun bringing the tron out to play but with this band it really makes weird sense. We play two sets. One with Viola/clarinet/oboe set in the tron with acoustic guitar, percussion, ambient electric guitar, and some live looping courtesy of the kaoss pad and a really horrible easy listening album.
The second set is with a big band version of the band. Standard set in the tron. 7 piece choir, four piece brass section ( including two tubas ), drum kit, percussionist, Taurus pedals, electric bass and baritone guitar. Acoustic guitar.
Our sound guy is aging fast. But it sounds really unique. And it is so liberating to not have a stupid electric guitar bashing semi distorted chords killing all the space. But killing it with choirs, Mellotron strings and brass instead. After the gig we were approached by a lap steel guy and a clarinet girl so it seems like we are expanding still...
I´ll be adding some live songs at my site if anyones curious.
BTW do you streetly boys know history about the Mellotron Viola. Who played it et.c...I use it a lot and it would be great to know more about it...

If any swedes out there are curious to see good old #1517 strutting it´s stuff please drop by Mondo at Medborgarplatsen at nine tomorrow night 14/4. The band is called Two times the trauma, singer songwriter stuff going slightly weird. There will even be a public tape frame switch from Viola/clarinet/oboe to the good old 3 violins/cello/flute combo.
How did it go?
Andy
