Gents,
I finally was able to take a peek at the mellotron nearest ME! It
has only taken a dozen or so years but it was worth the effort and
the wait. M400S s/n 574 has been living a quiet retirement in a
purple road case at a music store a little over an hour from my home.
Sadly, number 574's caretaker did not feel it wise to fire it up (nor
did I), it has been many years since it has run and needs a good
going over prior to "letting the blue smoke out" of the electronics.
If wishes were fishes, number 574 would soon be taking up residence in
my home but now it's time to begin saving my spare change....and
maybe get a second job!
Now for the burning question: Are there any records as to number
574's history, fame and fortune? Or has this unit lived a quiet,
well-behaved life? Inquiring minds want to know!
Thanks in advance,
FS. Weller
