Ok Frank. Let's say that there are 2000 Mellotrons and
Chamberlins out there. This list is what, 100 people?
200? If that's the demographic for Mellotron business
and these guys are going to quibble over 250.00 worth
of parts that are the BIGGEST problem with the
instrument....then both Streetly and MA are in big
trouble if they continue to invest in projects like
new pinch rollers, or new anything else that requires
tooling or large "up front" investments.

What's my "axe to grind"? That this list is so long on
air and short on support for either supplier. Martin
has complained on numerous occasions about the lack of
business from this list...Markus rarely comments
because he's busy building machines and parts that he
sells to everyone BUT this list. He's sold 50+ Mk
VI's. They've gotten glowing reviews in the trades.
And he goes out of his way to help people...many of
whom are on this list but won't vocally support him
when the slag starts flying from the other side. Don't
hear much from Andy T. during those moments, now do
we? Why is that? Because he cant' tell you the perfect
temperature for pouring Guiness? Because he doesn't
call himself Gertrude?

Appallng? I'll tell you what's appalling; that both
Streetly and Mellotron Archives aren't getting rich
from their efforts. I don't like Martin's tone, he
hates my guts. Fine. This ain't a personality contest,
but I admire him and John for the same reasons that I
admire Kean and Markus Resch, they are trying
desparately to keep the Mellotron vital in the music
world against odds like these.

Wonder that they bother.
