I'm pretty sure it isn't, but can't lay my hands on the proof at the moment.
there were a number of sessions by robert wyatt during his 'tron period....
nothing from the cocteaus, though- their sessions either predate or postdate
their 'tron use.
&, if it sort-of-counts, the band known as "king crimson" made their first
recordings for the bbc before commencing the album known locally as "ITCOTCK".
but I shall ask an expert & find out.
life without peel is taking some getting used to.
meanwhile, back in r.m.i.-land, the same BBC-sessions expert has been adding
'tron parts to our latest album. this is why I've been a bit quiet... 1098
features prominently both as itself & in sampled form. we use the biggest sampler
we could find, & this lets us trigger the 'tron sounds from the mighty p3
sequencer, to create looping phrases of flute, cello, strings, brass & plucked
piano.
the album is for release on cuneiform early next year & will be paired with
an edit of the live set from philadelphia, which featured 400s borrowed from
jeff & jimmy of this parish.
(footnote- the reason we are doing an album for cuneiform is that steve f
came to see us in philly, principally to thank the aforementioned 'tronnist for
his assistance in sourcing the BBC sessions by wyatt for US release. steve, the
one in r.m.i, that is, worked in the BBC archive for over ten years.)
