Theory - perhaps; practice - never. Digital sampling may remove some
form of idiosyncracies but it also introduces its own myriad artifacts
into the process.

Whether or not the purists scoff, I rather imagine that the Mk 2 Brass
is 'untuneable'. It consists of recordings of several instruments
playing the same note at the same time, and some of them appear to be
out of tune with each other. (The eight voice choir has the same
problems)

So do I - but I also want new sounds that allow me to explore scope and
potential of this absolutely extraordinary instrument.
