Okay folks, I've driven the people at work crazy listening to Watcher
this morning (Driven myself crazy, too, as a matter of fact...), and here's what
I've found:

Banks definitely does NOT play the F#s in the first 3 bars tied together. You
can hear that clearly in both the studio and live version. So take out that first
tie I wrote on the part if you want to be really, really authentic.

I'm now with Fritz (God help me!) who clearly states in 'The Mellotron Song',
"I don't EVER want to hear 'Watcher of the Skies' again!" just before he goes
out, slamming the door behind him. For your further elucidation, Fritz also
makes the statement in a cheesy New Jersey accent; however, the door slam
quite cleverly has a quasi-Viennese flavor -- making the track a standout in
my opinion. Also really, really hard to get out of your head even after one
listening, the clever sod!

Now if we could get Andy to interview the Fritzter and find out if he used
mellotron sound effects for this recording or did them live and ran them
through his Leslie that would settle the discussion once and for all. But we all
know how reluctant Fritz is to talk about his old material and
the vintage equipment he no longer cares about. ;)
