Three of the “things”that go bump in a ‘tron or Chamberlinare those ladies on the violins….
MythBuster time, folks…I haveheard the story a zillion times that the 3-violin sound is three femaleviolinists from the Lawrence Welk Orchestra playingin Harry Chamberlin’s bedroom. I have passed iton as gospel, but is it merely urban legend? I have done googlesearches and can only find one woman who played violin in the the Welk Orchestra that might be from the early ‘50’s, Josephine Goldman(“the first female violinist to play with Lawrence Welk'sorchestra”).
Anyone out there with more info on this one??? Or any other of the musicians that Harry got to play into his ‘can’???
